Director's Profile
Shinichi Akusawa / Born on October 11, 1982 / Saitama, Japan
During my student years, a language study trip to Australia sparked a strong desire in me: “I want to turn what I truly love into my work.” This led me to leave university and travel the world as a backpacker. One of the turning points on that journey was joining the Peace Boat, a global voyage that inspired me to pursue hands-on healing as my life’s work. As I visited over 20 countries, I felt a growing desire to be of service and to develop a lifelong, hands-on skill that could truly help others.
After returning to Japan, I began working at a Japanese osteopathic clinic while attending school, and eventually obtained my national qualification in Judo Therapy. I gained six years of experience treating over 70 patients a day at a busy clinic, before relocating to Malaysia in 2014. Since opening my own practice, I’ve become increasingly committed to asking deeper questions—not just “What hurts?” but “Why does it hurt?” and “Why isn’t it healing?” These inner questions have guided me to explore the root causes of imbalance with great care.
I’ve pursued methods that guide the body to change with minimal force, drawing from a wide range of wisdom: anatomical structure, breathwork, organ function, neurological reflexes, meditation, subtle energy, and vibrational frequencies. My goal is to offer a kind of bodywork that brings the body and mind into true alignment. Though I’m still on a path of learning and growth, I believe my role is to activate what every human already possesses: the body’s natural ability to restore and rebalance itself—the inner switch that only needs the right moment to turn on.
Since I have the privilege of turning my passion into my profession, I’ll continue offering Japanese-style manual therapy to people of all ages, genders, and nationalities—bringing more ease, balance, and smiles into the world. I truly look forward to the day we meet—whenever the time is right for you.
