Personalized Bodywork for Long-Lasting Relief from Chronic Pain and Injuries
At AWA Japanese Bodywork, we focus on identifying the true root causes of your pain—not just offering short-term fixes, but guiding your body toward deep and lasting recovery.
We support a wide range of conditions, including:
lower back pain, shoulder and neck tension, frozen shoulder, knee and hip discomfort, wrist and elbow pain, and sports-related injuries.
Our goal is to help you build a body that stays balanced and pain-free, preventing recurrence.
Each session begins with a thoughtful consultation and assessment.
We then provide personalized care using techniques such as gentle touch, rhythmic rocking, and light, flowing movements.
This bodywork will likely be unlike anything you’ve experienced before—and may offer a whole new sense of relief and awareness.
Our approach helps restore flexibility, mobility, and the body’s natural healing power, so you can move freely again, whether in daily life or in sports.
After the session, we’ll guide you through simple exercises and self-care practices that fit easily into your daily routine, empowering you to take charge of your healing and prevent future issues.
We may also use kinesiology taping or non-invasive Japanese-style needle patches (which do not pierce the skin), as needed.
We also treat acute injuries such as sprains, bruises, and jammed fingers—common in both sports and everyday life.
Early care is essential, and we offer complete support throughout the healing process, including rehabilitation if necessary.
If we believe further examination is required, we collaborate with a trusted medical clinic nearby to offer referrals for doctor consultations, X-rays, and diagnostic testing.
If you’re dealing with lingering discomfort, mysterious symptoms, or chronic pain that just won’t go away, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
At AWA Japanese Bodywork, we’re here to walk with you as your personal body coach—gently guiding you back to balance, ease, and well-being.
Treatment Flow
To begin with, you'll be asked to complete a short intake form so we can gain a clearer understanding of your concerns.
Following that, we’ll have a detailed discussion regarding your symptoms — such as where it hurts, what the pain feels like, and when it began.
We may also enquire about any previous injuries or accidents to help identify the possible root cause.
Should you have any questions or uncertainties, please do not hesitate to ask — we’ll ensure you feel fully at ease.
Based on the information gathered, we will carry out a physical examination. This may include visual assessment, palpation (gentle touch), and movement tests to explore how your body is functioning and to identify any imbalances. We’ll assess your mobility, posture, and physical response to specific movements, in order to determine what may be causing your discomfort.
Once completed, we will explain why the issue may be occurring, what the underlying cause is, and how we plan to address it. This stage is crucial in identifying the true root of your symptoms — not merely alleviating the superficial pain.
Before beginning treatment, we will clearly explain your current condition, using anatomical diagrams or physical demonstrations where helpful.
We’ll describe how your body’s current alignment could be contributing to your symptoms.
Once you have a proper understanding, we will begin the treatment.
Our approach does not involve cracking or forceful manipulations. Instead, we use gentle, targeted techniques focused on the muscles, fascia, and nervous system, encouraging natural healing. Many clients find the session so relaxing that they drift off during treatment.
We’ll address the areas that need attention, which may not necessarily be where your discomfort is felt — this is where our earlier assessment proves essential.
Following the session, we will reassess your condition by repeating key checks. We'll also discuss how frequently you should return and what the next steps will be. In addition, we will provide practical advice on stretches, exercises, and daily habits to support your recovery at home. Our aim is not just to ease your symptoms but to help you build a body that resists pain recurrence. Feel free to raise any remaining concerns at this stage — we’re always happy to help.
Once your session is complete, you may proceed with payment and booking your next visit if required.
We hope you leave with a sense of confidence — that "Yes, I can overcome this pain."
We are fully committed to helping you feel better.
